Women of Blogosphere, What's happening?

As I get older, I notice my body shape is also changing. No longer is the hour-glass shape there. It seems i'm getting to look more like a bonified...PEAR !

what's going on? Is this normal? Should I be worried? I think exercise will only turn me into a slimmer pear.

Oy vey.

Awwww, Miriam, cheer up :) Researchers say that fewer and fewer women have hourglass shapes, and that fashion's been following that trend by developing all kinds of flattering styles for all kinds of curves and non-curves. A lighter-coloured top over a darker-coloured bottom piece can optically balance a pear shape.

We are so bombarded with images of women with 'perfect' bodies. Capitolaism has a heavy stake in us being dissatisfied with oursleves. If they (big business) can make us feel our bodies just aren't right, we'll spend money.

I say, without ever having seen you, that there are millions of women who would love to have your shape! Enjoy and be thankful for the wonderful changes our bodies go through.

As long as you're healthy, take pride in your shape! It's the shape your ancesters gave you.

Thanks

Be happy that you at least have a shape! I hear that once you hit 40 your middle starts to get thicker. Ever see those skinny older women with the little belly's? I think that is my future..can't wait...lol

Miriam: In the last two years, my waistline has become a fond memory. I now have a bolster around my middle where it used to be.

You are ok. All the celeb photos are photo suited. Fruit is a good thing, pears are lovely. Revel in your pear shapeness.

As our estrogen levels drop with age, our body fat redistributes. When we're young estrogen keeps most of our body fat in the hip area to be readily available for carrying a baby. Once we start inching up on menopause (mid-30s), the fat redistributes to around our waist and we also get the dreaded backfat. In other words, once we're past childrearing, our bodies really don't care what we look like.

Oh, Roslyn,

You always speak the truth with lots of wit! I'm still depressed about the changes.

A slimmer pear? Lol. I'm sure whatever you do, you will be fine. I say I'm too skinny. Another will say they are too round. I say I'm stuck with me for the rest of my life, so I may as well get used to it. You have the hard part covered. You have a man who loves you for you and that's the best look to wear all year round! Your blog is interesting as well. I don't interact with Black Female Jews, but I found a voice in you.
I just wrote a new blog. Its kind of funny and I want you to tell me if you went through a similar experience.
